About Mojave Bloom

Mojave Bloom Nursery is a community-focused plant nursery located in the heart of Las Vegas. Founded by longtime desert horticulturist and arborist Norm Schilling, Mojave Bloom specializes in desert-adapted plants that thrive in the Mojave climate. The nursery is dedicated to helping gardeners, homeowners, and landscape professionals create beautiful, sustainable landscapes that use water wisely and celebrate the unique ecology of the Southwest.

Beyond offering carefully selected plants, Mojave Bloom serves as a hub for desert gardening education. Through workshops, community events, and expert guidance, the nursery connects people with practical knowledge about growing in arid environments. Norm Schilling

Norm Schilling is a Las Vegas horticulturist, ISA Certified Arborist, and longtime advocate for sustainable desert landscaping. With decades of experience in horticulture and landscape management, Norm has worked in a wide range of roles including horticulture supervisor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and lead groundskeeper at the Gardens at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.

Norm is also the owner of Schilling Horticulture Group and a frequent voice in Southern Nevada gardening education. Many local gardeners know him through the popular “Desert Bloom” gardening segments heard on Nevada Public Radio.

Through Mojave Bloom Nursery, Norm brings his decades of experience directly to the community—helping Las Vegas gardeners select plants that thrive in the desert while using water responsibly.

Lawsuit claims ban on ‘useless grass’ has killed 100K trees in Southern Nevada

Attached to the lawsuit is a declaration from Norm Schilling, the owner of Mojave Bloom Nursery in downtown Las Vegas and a Southern Nevada horticulturist of 35 years.
